Bloggers were well represented at the 10th EAHIL Conference at Cluj and quite active all around the day, thanks to an excellent and free conference hotspot. At http://eahil2006.blogspot.com/, they collaborativly blogged most of the sessions, linked to the presentations or even uploaded them, as well as a lot of pictures, and the conference newsletter „Transylvanian EAHIL Echo“.
Apple of the Months for the Company of Biologists! The Company is adopting a tiered pricing system for its journals, Development, Journal of Cell Science and The Journal of Experimental Biology from 2007 onwards. Description of the tiers and their prices. Even if a library could make savings, The Company seems to apologize for the new pricing system. Finally a publisher who takes his commitment to scientific progress seriously – congratulations!
The free archive provision has now been extended to include all issues back to volume 1, issue 1 of 1923 for of the Journal of Experimental Biology, 1966 for Journal of Cell Science and 1987 for Development. Work continues to make all remaining issues of Journal of Cell Science and Development freely available and further announcements about this will be made shortly.
