Christoph Thiedig: Der Kerndatensatz Forschung: Aufbau, Anwendung und die Rolle der Bibliothek
Zusammenfassung: Mit den Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrates zur Spezifikation und Einführung eines „Kerndatensatz Forschung“ ist ein Prozess der Standardisierung von Forschungsinformationen im deutschen Wissenschaftssystem angestoßen worden. Der Beitrag gibt eine Einführung in den Kerndatensatz Forschung, geht auf den Entwicklungsprozess des Standards und seinen Hintergrund ein, beschreibt überblicksartig Struktur und Inhalte der Spezifikation und betrachtet vertiefend die Inhalte und Erfassungsanforderungen des Kerndatensatz-Bereichs „Publikationen“. Weiterhin widmet sich der Artikel dem derzeitigen Prozess der Implementierung des Kerndatensatz Forschung und beschreibt in diesem Zusammenhang Aufgaben und Unterstützungsangebote des Helpdesks. Abschließend thematisiert er die Rolle bibliothekarischer Expertise für die Umsetzung und Weiterentwicklung des Standards im Kontext aktueller Entwicklungen in der deutschen Forschungsinformationslandschaft.

Christoph THIEDIG: The Research Core Dataset for the German science system: structure, application and the role of the library
Abstract: Recommendations by the German Council of Science and Humanities regarding the specification and introduction of a German “Research Core Dataset” have initiated a process of research information standardization in the German science system. The article provides an introduction to the Research Core Dataset, its development process, structure and contents, with a focus on the area of publications and its requirements for data collection. It further addresses the current implementation process of the standard and describes the tasks and support structures of its helpdesk. It concludes with a discussion on the role of libraries’ expertise in implementation and future development of the standard in the context of recent developments in the German research information landscape.
