Ulrich KORWITZ: Die Deutsche Zentralbibliothek für Medizin in Köln und Bonn – Zentrale Fachbibliothek und Infrastruktureinrichtung für die Forschung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
Zusammenfassung: Die Deutsche Zentralbibliothek für Medizin (ZB MED) ist die zentrale Fachbibliothek für Medizin, Gesundheitswesen, Ernährung, Umwelt- und Agrarwissenschaften für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland. In ihrer 40-jährigen Geschichte entwickelte sie sich von einem sammlungsorientierten Dokumentlieferanten zu einer Infrastruktureinrichtung vor allem für wissenschaftliche Nutzergruppen. Heute stehen neben der Sammlung und Dokumentlieferung moderne Informationsdienstleistungen, das Open Access-Publishing sowie innovative Projekte im Vordergrund ihrer Arbeit.

Ulrich KORWITZ: The German National Library of Medicine in Cologne and Bonn – National Library and Infrastructure Organisation for Research in the Federal Republic of Germany
Abstract: The German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED) is the National Library for Medicine, Health, Nutrition, Environment and Agriculture in the Federal Republic of Germany. Founded 40 years ago, the library developed from a document supplier on the basis of its comprehensive collection to an infrastructure organisation especially for scientific users. Today, the emphasis is put – besides collection management and document delivery – on modern information services, Open Access Publishing and innovative projects.
