This Web 2.0 toolkit will help scientists everywhere to meet like-minded researchers, hold online discussions, showcase their work via personal homepages, share information with groups (open or private) and tag content. Participation is free to all, requiring little more than nature.com registration.
Besonders attraktiv dürften die so genannten local hubs sein, die z.B. für Boston supports, celebrates and connects scientists in the city, with rich editorial coverage of Boston-area research and researchers, Boston bloggers, a calendar of Boston-area lectures, seminars and conferences and listings of Boston-area jobs for scientists. Die Foren sind allerdings noch ganz spärlich, die Blogs geben eine Fehlermeldung. Ob’s was hochkarätiges wird, kann man also noch nicht beurteilen, Name, Anspruch und Vorgänger deuten aber in diese Richtung.
